Hawkes started off with winning the toss and decided to field first.
Hawkes started with the high note with gold cup in mind, with enough practice under belt.
First over started by piyush Yadav with a nice break in the first over with kartik holding on to a difficult catch, getting a early break in the match.
Second over was bowled by sreenath , with some lucky and good shots by tapasvi scoring 12 runs in that over with the help of one six and one four.
Sreenath recovering great in last three overs with two awesome wickets.
Tapasvis wicket came in fifth over in piyush’s over with CHAI catching a very out of spin ball, great break through that hawkes needed.
Unknown XI was 36 in ten overs.
With some tight bowling from Piyush, PJ, sreenath, Chai and Pranai.
Hawkes was able to restrict Unknown XI, for 65 for 7.
Venkis awesome catch on the long off.
Excellent deceiving bowling by sreenath leading him a clean bowled and stumping.
Chai’s fearless bowling to restrict and get a wicket.
Great fielding shown consistently by anil, purab, and amar.
Pranai’s deadly bowling, keeping the batsman guessing everytime.
Sarbajeets beautiful runout from the point.
Batting.
Batting started on the high note from PJ and Venki.
Good start by the opening batsmen, intelligent batting and nice rotation of the strike.
Hawkes moving nicely towards the target and against the run of the play Pj got out.
Then there comes Kartik, Hawkes trusted batsman to the crease.
Venki and Kartik frustrating the Bowlers by getting 2’s and 3’s in almost every over.
Including a beautiful straight down the wicket four by kartik.
By 10 overs hawkes was 45/1.
And in 12.5 overs we finishsed the game handsomely with 9 wickets in hand.

Yes, that was well deserved win to Hawkes and thanks to Venki, Kartik and Piyush for their big hand in the game....Also it was well suported by the rest of the players in bowling and fielding.
Especially the fielding is awesome, hope we continue the same for future games.....
Venki's innings was one of the best in Hawkes history, considering he never opened the innings before.
Kartik - always u were there as a pillar in the batting department, keep it going.....
Piyush - Lately you are stepping up match after match in the wickets column. Nice to see u back inform. Oh god the batsman had no clue what so ever, how did he get bowled round his legs, such kind of delivery's always keeps bowler so happy.......
Almost everyone had a piece in the victory..
Amar and Purab for fielding in the short third man area.
Sarba for his timely runout and flawless fielding in the gully-point region.
Anil for his dedicated and crucial fielding place, never allowed batsman to go for a 2nd run.
PJ for his little hand with venki in opening.
Chai for his bowling and though not a difficult catch but decent one to get rid of danger batsman.
Sreenath for his good comback last 3 overs, one of which was a wicket madin.
All in all congrats Hawkies for getting us to GOLD CUP, 3rd in a row!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Piyush just kidding man good article.Yeah fantastic game, such games give us a great confidence because it was so perfectly executed by everyone.Pranai amazing bowling man very tight and built up pressure from one end.Chai good catch and bowling as well dude, ur "pink" shoes seem to be working after all :).And congrats to Amar for making anew friend on field the dog kept on following u man wat did u do to it hehehe.

Yes Sarba, almost everyone forgot of that incident after we won the match.
ReplyDeleteI think chai was in the impression that he batted for 20 balls and scored 2 runs, and even if he don't make him runout this will benefit the Hawkes to chase a minimal final score.
In my previous one, I forgot to mention abut the PJ 2 overs, he did a real awesome job by bowling decent line and length.
Oh no Saraba... I remember my brain freeze....I thought.. i could get him next over like you in a previous game drop a catch and next over batsmen got out with no problem :)

awwww! Chai, you thot we forgot.by the way another motivation for me snatching the ball from Chai's hand was extra 2 pts kachinggggg!!but later realized Sarba gets the credit should have misfielded and taken off the stumps :).
